Fabric Coasters Sets of 4 AND Yoyo Magnets

Mod Podge Tile Coasters

I am excited to introduce you to my new little project that I've been working on for the past few days.  FABRIC COASTER SETS OF 4!  I used a tutorial that I found on pinterest.com.  Here is the site, http://www.hostessblog.com/2010/07/diy-tutorial-mod-podge-tile-coasters/

Mod Podge!  It's an awesome adhesive that dries clear.

Materials Needed:

Mod Podge

paint brush or sponge

E-6000

Plain Tiles 

1 inch hole puncher

felt

Polyurethane Clear Gloss Spry

All I did was with a sponge, place a coat of mod podge on the tile.

Place fabric onto the wet tile

Using a 1 inch hole puncher, cut 4 circles out of black felt

Glue each circle on the bottom side of the tile with E-600

Spray each tile with 2 coats of Polyurethane Clear Gloss Spray

***You must wait 6 months before you can put anything HOT on your coasters for the Mod Podge to fully cure***

Still working on a few more sets but heres what I've completed so far.

Since I have the whole summer off, I've tried to spend as much time as I can on my crafty tutorials I've been wanting to try.

Sorry the pictures are a little dark.  I just added two stronger wattage bulbs in my room but still seems to be a tad dark :/

Well there you have it, my new lil creations!  I'm hoping to start on a few fabric summer wreaths and a queen size quilt with the fabric that I listed prior.  I'm also working on baby wash cloths, blankets, and bibs.  Stay tuned....

I'm using this to make burp cloths, bibs, and wash cloths.  I cant wait to be done with this semester, by the way, my last day is tomorrow, cant wait!  As soon as I get them done, I'll post pics:)

Cute Fabric Tissue Holders

For those of you who know my at all, you know that I am practically allergic to EVERYTHING! This includes all grasses, trees, pollens, dogs, cats, and dust mites.  So, how perfect are these adorable fabric tissue holders?  They are the perfect size for your purse, back pack, or even your pocket!  I used a tutorial from Sew Mama Sew http://www.sewmamasew.com/blog2/december2010/JCasaSMSProjectDec.  I love the step by step pictures that she has added in the tutorial.  It really helped make it easier to understand.

Okay, so I'm starting to get the hang of making a basic zippered pouch.  I had a little trouble sewing the zipper for the first time.  I added lace and a heart button to embellish.

Yayyy! This was super easy to do! I love this fabric! It was on sale, and super soft.  I'm so glad that I turned it into pretty pillow cases to add to my bed.

My First Quilt

My 1st Quilt :)

So.... after months working on my very first quilt, I am pleased to inform you that I have finally finished it! I have to admit that this was a little tough my first time.  Very time consuming, but relaxing for me.  I had this fabric stashed for years and I'm happy that I was finally able to find something beautiful to make with it.  So, here she is, my FIRST quilt!

I am so excited to show you my new headbands!  I used Sew Chatty's tutorial to learn how to make these adorable headbands.  I love all her products.  She is so talented and comes up with great ideas.  You can follow her blog at http://sewchatty.blogspot.com/.  I have to admit that I am a headband FREAK! So, these new additions to my collection are perfect.  I purchased my fabric from The Fabric Shop, which has an Etsy shop.  Take a look at their beautiful fabric, http://www.etsy.com/shop/fabricshoppe?ref=pr_shop_more.  It took me about an hour to make each headband.  I made myself a little set up, using my new foldable sewing table that I got on sale for $70 at Joanns Fabrics.  Im happy to finally put it to use.

RIP My Friend Jaime Cruz

A friend that I'v known for many many years recently passed away on the night of Oct 16 2010.  He was on his motorcycle going nearly 100 mph on Grissom rd and was turning onto Misty Way when an Excursion hit him.  He was killed almost instantly.  Paramedics were not able to revive him because of a broken jaw.  I've known Jaime almost my entire life.  I went to elementary, middle, and high school with this kid.  All my memories of him are of him being the class clown and smiling all the time.  He had no beef with anybody ever.  He got along with everyone and was such a funny guy.  I know he is up in heaven watching over his friends and family.  I'm more mad than anything.  Jaime was such a cool guy that didnt deserve to go so soon.  He was only 25 years old, with his whole life ahead of him.  I guess what they say is true, the good ones die young.  I will never forget you Jamie Cruz.  You will forever be in my heart and my prayers go out to your family.  Watch over your brother because i know he's taking it hard.

THEA=Yuck!

Oh how i hate placement tests.  In order to get into the teacher certification program at UTSA, you must have passed all parts of the placement test.  When I starting community college I had taken the acuplacer.  Passed all BUT math. ARRRRGGG! Math is my worst subject.  Took remedial classes, passed, and completed college algebra. NOW after 5 years or so without math, they expect me to pass it. I've taken the acuplacer 3 times and cant pass this damn test. So, I've gotten a tutor, once again, and am going to try the THEA  this time.  Saturday mourning at 8am determines my future. I so dont want to take another semester off because of a placement test.  So, wish me luck, and pray for me because I will be needing it!

Lolo && I

My cousin Lauren and I are 15 days apart.  Ever since we were really little, we have always been close.  The past couple years I  havent spent as much time with her as I would have wanted, but we are both busy in our own little worlds dealing with school, our family, and boyfriends.  However, the past couple days she was off of work, so was I, and we were able to hang out together like old times.  But in a way it wasnt like old times.  She just finished school and is a RN. She just moved into a new and beautiful apartment. I couldnt be more proud of her.  She is like another sister to me and seeing her do so good just makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside. Spending two full days of shopping with her was a blast.  My cousin always makes me laugh.  We even purchased matching comforters like when we were little.  We ALWAYS had the same of everything.  I truly enjoied myself and plan not to wait too long for our next shopping date.
